About Dr. Jiménez
“WITHOUT SUFFERING THROUGH THE mud, YOU CANNOT FIND THE HAPPINESS of the lotus.”
ABOUT
She was a dancer first. She trained in New York, at the Alvin Ailey School, one of the most demanding conservatories in American dance, and under direct protégées of Martha Graham, the mother of modern dance. She danced through injuries and eventually danced into burnout. When she could no longer feel passion for the thing she had built her identity and life around, she decided to find out why.
She turned to psychology, studying at Stanford University under Albert Bandura, the father of social cognitive theory. She earned her doctorate at the PGSP–Stanford Consortium specializing in peak performance, motivation, and behavior change. She is a board-certified executive coach.
As one of BetterUp's founding members, she served as Vice President of Coaching Innovation and played a key role in architecting and scaling the company into one of the world's largest digital coaching networks, a $4.7 billion valuation enterprise.
Her book, The Burnout Fix (McGraw Hill), won the 2021 International Book Award. Her work has appeared in Harvard Business Review, Forbes, and NPR. She has lectured at NASA, Google, and Columbia's Zuckerman Institute.
Today she advises Fortune 500 CEOs, private equity partners, and founders. She sits on Grow Therapy's AI Advisory Panel, guiding the responsible use of AI in mental health, and on the Executive Board of Abroad.io.
What she offers is not a theory of human performance and resilience. It is a practice of it.
